Dr. Uppiliappan Gopalan is a distinguished professional with deep expertise in governance, community development, and sustainable social initiatives. With decades of experience working across rural and urban communities in Tamil Nadu, he brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to Geo India Foundation's strategic direction and program oversight.
As a Board Member of GIF, Dr. Gopalan actively contributes to shaping the foundation's long-term vision, ensuring that all programs align with the highest standards of impact, transparency, and community welfare. His commitment to charitable causes and his network across civic and professional circles have been instrumental in expanding GIF's reach and credibility.
You don't need to join full-time to make a difference. Our volunteer program welcomes students, working professionals, and retirees to participate in weekend tree plantation drives, school painting campaigns, health awareness events, and fundraising activities.
We also offer structured 2–6 month internships for students from social work, environment, management, media, and technology backgrounds — with real field experience, mentorship, and a certificate of completion.
