Empowering individuals with market-relevant skills to build dignified, self-reliant livelihoods across Tamil Nadu.
Unemployment and underemployment are critical barriers to dignity for thousands of young people and women in Tamil Nadu\'s underserved communities. Geo India Foundation\'s Skill Development Centers bridge the gap between aspiration and opportunity — providing practical, industry-relevant training that leads directly to employment or self-employment.
We operate six skill development centers strategically located in Chengalpattu, Maduranthagam, Uthiramerur, Ayanavaram, Mogappair, and Kannagi Nagar — reaching urban slum communities, peri-urban populations, and rural youth who would otherwise have no access to quality vocational training.
Our 12+ courses are designed in consultation with local employers and industry bodies to ensure that graduates emerge with skills that are immediately deployable. With an 80% placement rate, our centres have earned the trust of both trainees and employers across Chennai and surrounding districts.
Each centre is embedded within the community it serves, making quality vocational training accessible to those who need it most.
Serving rural youth and women from Chengalpattu and surrounding villages with tailoring, embroidery, and basic computer literacy courses.
Focused on agricultural community livelihood diversification with food processing, handicrafts, and agri-entrepreneurship skill courses.
Bridging the rural-urban skills gap for youth from tribal and rural background communities with digital literacy and vocational training.
Urban centre in North Chennai providing computer skills, spoken English, data entry, and customer service training for placement in city businesses.
Serving the dense Mogappair urban community with mobile repair, two-wheeler maintenance, beauty therapy, and entrepreneurship development programmes.
Located in one of Chennai\'s largest resettlement colonies, offering livelihood skills to displaced and vulnerable urban families, with special focus on women\'s empowerment.
Over 1,600 graduates have secured employment with partner companies, garment factories, repair shops, and service businesses — achieving financial independence within months of training.
Hundreds of trained individuals have launched their own micro-businesses — from home-based tailoring units to mobile repair shops — creating self-sustaining livelihoods in their own communities.
Computer skills training has enabled hundreds of youth from digitally excluded backgrounds to access government services, banking, and online employment platforms for the first time.
