Equal access to food is the basic right of every human
An uneasy sensation inside the stomach occasioned by the lack of food or caused by insufficient consumption of food; is hunger.
The pandemic has led to increase in global food insecurity, affecting vulnerable households in almost every country. It has exacerbated existing inequalities, pushing millions of people into the vicious cycles of economic stagnation, loss of livelihood and worsening food insecurity.
In response to the Covid-19 crisis, India has enforced curfews and lockdowns to control the further spread of Covid virus. While the lockdown may have been effective in managing the spread of Covid-19 cases, but it showed a devastating effect on the peoples and made a hunger situation. This effect impacted on all states of India and Tamilnadu.
Geo India Foundation has been continuously working to provide food for the families at times of natural disaster. During the flood hit area in Kerala and Tamilnadu. At times of devastation, our organisation has managed to provide 35000 meals to the families and children affected by flood situation.
During the spread of Covid pandemic in 2020 and at the time of second wave in India, Geo India foundation has been feeding the hungry people across India. We have served more than 160,000 meals for the homeless and hungry people in Chennai and Delhi. Also we have served meals to the frontline staffs like doctors, nurses, other medical staffs and to the conservancy staff and sanitation workers.
During this covid break out Our foundation has distributed 3500 ration kits to the villagers and families of tribal village.
