Geo India Foundation has been able to achieve the following under our GIF empowerment program. Through this initiative more 300 women are trained in our empowerment program, which includes mothers and young girls.

Empowerment centre

The impression of our empowerment centre will be the improvement of more skilful and semi-skilful personnel who will contribute to economic growth and social development. Our Project purpose is to reduce poverty and promote economic growth by providing skills training to tribal and the disadvantaged community. Our Program’s anticipated outcome is increasing access by various potential trainees to and held together the capacity of technical and vocational education.

Our approach

  • Ensure providing of training, employment specific and income generation activities.
  • Ensures the ultimate goal of making all women financially independent and self-sufficient.
  • To provide awareness on social issues to adolescent girls and women.
  • To endorse and to associated with the trained institutes.
  • To strengthen training and placements opportunities for the trained girls and women.
  • To promote training to the young girls and women from the community management for women and young girls in the rural areas.

  • Through our tailoring institute, more than 300 women in the rural village were empowered.

Community centre is some of the primary agents of transformation towards the development of the Irula and rural community. It is an activity, or a series of activities, or a process that will improve the immediate living conditions and increase the potential for future living.

Based on the survey, conducted by Geo India Foundation the major job along the Irula and other community living in Nelveli village, jobs are tree cutting, and few members are part of the 100 days employment scheme. More than 84% of people are earning less than 24000/- per year and about 16% are earning more than 24000/- per year in these tribal community colonies. The main purpose of the project is prepared to address the root causes which hinder the growth and self-empowerment of the community and their by implement employment and skill developing solutions through our skill development training.
